Italy

Italy is the world's no1 producer of wine. The land has been recognised as early as Greek times as to the ease with which wine could be produced. Native Italian vines such as Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Barbera and Lambrusco for the black grape and Verdicchio, Trebbiano and Malvasia make up the native white grape. Italy also produces wine using imported vine stock such as Pinot Grigio, Merlot and more recently Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
