 Argentina is the largest wine producer in the southern hemisphere and ranked 5th overall. Area of main production is Mendoza, situated just east of the Andes. The shelter created by the mountains from the sea produces a hot, dry climate.
Wines exported include dry red from Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Argentina is also having success exporting Torrontes grape, one of their own grape types.
