New Zealand wine production is tiny but it has built a very strong reputation for white wines due to its temperate climate and good rainfall. Grape varieties include Chardonnay, Gewurtraminer and Sauvignon Blanc, which produces aromatic wines. Good red wines are also made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir.
